Activity: Fruit Ad Campaign. Go over the basic information on fruits provided in What foods are in the fruit group? (Lesson Resource). Have students create an ad campaign for a fruit. They can choose their fruit using the What foods are in the fruit group? or by coming up with their own fruit. Working in groups, have the students research different fruits. (They can find information at Choosemyplate.gov). Why is it a nutritious choice? Have students use their creativity to create a Google slide and perhaps a TV ad – a jingle, a skit – that they can perform for the class. Encourage students to incorporate the vocabulary words for the lesson in their ad campaign.
