Math

Students will develop number sense using a giant tens frame and beach balls at the beginning of the lesson and then transition into deeper learning and assessment through differentiated centers.

The students will learn about teen numbers. They will be able to build and represent teen numbers and also write equations to show these numbers.

In this lesson, students will have the opportunity to explore, create their own thinking, and collaborate. Students will work in groups to put together number problems with their sums and differences.

Students will identify shapes according to the family it belongs to, number of sides, vertices, and points it may have through active and creative thinking.

The students will begin learning how to add numbers using a method called 'part-part-whole'.

The students will be able to solve real-world/story problems using objects and drawings to find the sums up to 10, and differences within 10.

The students will learn practice counting numbers 0-20. They will also practice writing numbers 0-20 and filling in the missing numbers.

Students will review area and perimeter then complete a project with a group where they will showcase their knowledge.

Students will spend a week exploring their environment and finding things to measure!

Students are given unique characteristics that each amusement park owner wants in their park. They will use their knowledge of area and perimeter to create an amusement park the owner will love.
