Use this application task to design or adapt a short set of EOCEP-style assessment items aligned to USHC Standard 2. Educators begin with a selected indicator and instructional anchor, then create selected-response (SR), evidence-based selected-response (EBSR), and technology-enhanced (TE/TECR) items that measure the historical thinking, evidence use, and content understanding students practice during instruction. The resource provides guidance for considering Depth of Knowledge (DOK), incorporating historical sources, and using Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) to anticipate student performance and inform instructional support. Designed to strengthen alignment between instruction and assessment, this task supports evidence-centered assessment design aligned to South Carolina U.S. history standards and EOCEP expectations.
