Using cassava (aka yuka or manioc) flour and a clay paste, Kristy Bishop will demonstrate how to apply these mediums to fabric for resist dyeing. Both the cassava and clay can be applied to fabric by painting, stenciling, through a screen, or piped. Once dry, the fabric is ready to be dipped in the indigo. After several dips the resists can be washed off to reveal the resist designs.
