  • Fiddle-shaped 5 - 7.5 cm (2 - 3 inches) flowers with 5 petals
  • Stigma distinctive, forming large, red-green umbrella-like structure at flower's center
  • Insects and other small organisms attracted to colorful leaves and nectar
  • Lives in sandy bogs
