Sandy Point (S.C.) Stop 2 - Florida Horse Conch, Atlantic Murex, Atlantic Ribbed Mussel, Angel Wing, And Giant Tun - Episode 3

Kaltura

The Florida horse conch is the largest gastropod one would find around the beaches of Sandy Point. The Atlantic murex is a gastropod which features blunt, but large spines on its shell. The Atlantic ribbed mussel shell and Angel Wing shell gives visitors a clue as to what the Sandy Point area used to be, since this mussel is not usually found on open beaches, but marsh areas.  A shell from a Giant Tun, which feeds on sea cucumbers, is found as well.
