Sandy Point (S.C.) Stop 2 - Florida Horse Conch, Atlantic Murex, Atlantic Ribbed Mussel, Angel Wing, And Giant Tun

The Florida horse conch is the largest gastropod one would find around the beaches of Sandy Point. The Atlantic murex is a gastropod which features blunt, but large spines on its shell. The Atlantic ribbed mussel shell and Angel Wing shell gives visitors a clue as to what the Sandy Point area used to be, since this mussel is not usually found on open beaches, but marsh areas.  A shell from a Giant Tun, which feeds on sea cucumbers, is found as well.
