The Ninety-Six Star Fort | Curiosity Trek!

The Ninety-Six National Historic Site located in Greenwood, SC was the site of two battles in the American Revolution. This location figured prominently in the Southern Campaign in the American Revolution. One of the longest field sieges of the Revolutionary War took place here in 1781 when 1,000 Patriot troops under command of General Nathanael Greene attacked the fort.

NPS Park Ranger Adrian Stewart talks with Host Andrew Davis about the siege and its historic significance for the Revolutionary War. The earthen “Star Fort” at Ninety-Six remains one of the best-preserved examples of an original 18th century fortification, and Kosciuszko’s tunnel is the only military tunnel constructed during the Revolution.
