Basketball Mania
Objective: TSWBT correctly dribble and shoot a basketball in a small-sided team game during the class
Equipment:
- Basketball
- Basketball goal
How to play: Students will be separated into two teams. Each team will be lined up on a different baseline on either side of the basketball goal. The goal of the game is for everyone on the team to shoot and score before the other team finishes. The first student on each team will have a basketball. On the teachers whistle both the students with the basketballs will dribble up to the goal and shoot a shot. The students can shoot from wherever they want to on the court whether it is a layup or a 3-point shot. Once they make a shot, they will either dribble or pass the ball to the next person in line on their team and go to the back of the line. Once the second person receives the ball, they will repeat the process and shoot the ball until they make it. The first team that successfully has everyone shoot and make a basket wins the game.
Alternatives:
- Have students go through the line more than once
- Have 4 teams going at one time (2 at each basket)
- Have students shoot only free throws or three-pointers
- Allow students to only receive one shot. First team to reach a certain amount of points wins
