Shark Feeder Arnold Postell | Original SC

Thats what Arnold Postell, a senior biologist at South Carolina Aquarium, says about conserving and caring for the environment. Postell, a Charleston native, spent most of his time growing up in the Lowcountry exploring the deep water creek he lived on.

One of his jobs is taking care of the shark population on exhibit at the Aquarium. He regularly dives with sharks that range in size and are up to 300 pounds.

In Postells words, sharks are sensitive when it comes to what they like to eat. And he would know. He feeds the sharks by lowering the flanked fish using a pole or target. To get the sharks attention they beat on the side of the tank, letting them know they are there with food.
