Intro

- TSWBT state the cues for a chest pass and overhead pass to a partner by the end of class
- TSWBT work cooperatively and respectfully with partners and groups
- Rules – Don’t pass the ball as hard as you can and don’t throw the ball at anyone. When teacher blows the whistle hold the ball and put your eyes on the teacher. If you have a ball put it under your arm

Chest Pass: Bring ball to chest, Step, Extend arms, Thumbs down
Overhead Pass: Ball behind head, Step, Throw, Follow Through

- Application: Relay Races (3 and 5)
Task 2: Partner chest passing while shuffling
Students will be in lines behind cones. The two students at the front of the line will begin shuffling down the court in a straight line while using a chest pass to pass it back and forth. Don’t throw the ball to the next person in line. Hand it off
- Down and back
- Refinement: Make sure that students are not crossing their feet
- Application: See how many passes that the students can get before they get back to the line
Task 3: Keep away from defender
For this task, students will be trying to keep the ball away from a defender. There will be 2 people on offense and one person in the middle on defense. The people on offense can shuffle from cone to cone in order to find an open space to pass the ball. The defender must leave one foot in the hula hoop. The students will earn a point for every successful pass.
Rotations: When the teacher blows the whistle twice the students will rotate. One offensive player will become the defender. The defender will become an offensive player. The other offensive player will go off the court while the person that was out comes in as an offensive player.
- One rotation (4 whistles)
- Extension: If it’s too easy move cones closer together. If it’s too hard then widen the cones
- Application: See how many points the students can get in 30 seconds
