Human Foosball

Objective: TSWBT practice on their kicking and cooperation skills playing a game during the class

Equipment:

• 2 goals
• Cones
• PVC pipe. 2 sets of 20 feet. 2 sets of 15 feet. 2 sets of 10 feet. 2 sets of 5 feet. (Alternative: You could use rope if you don’t have enough PVC)
• Soccer ball

How to play: Students will be separated into two teams with an equal number of players on each team. Each team will have 4 PVC pipes that are different lengths (20 feet, 15 feet, 10 feet, and 5 feet). The teacher will position the students based on teams into the appropriate spots on the gym floor. This should look like a regular foosball table. The students should be facing the goal that they are trying to score in. There will be one goal at each end of the gym. The game will begin by the teacher rolling the soccer ball down the middle of the court. Students will have to move together in order for a student to try and kick the ball towards their goal. Play will continue until a penalty occurs, the ball is out of reach or out of bounds, or a goal is missed or scored. Each goal will be worth one point.

Penalties:

• Players must keep both hands on their section of PVC pipe at all times
• Players cannot move up/down the PVC pipe or switch positions with another player during the game
• Players will have to move together from side to side. However, the students cannot move forwards or backward. The boundary cones will be used to mark the line’s movement zone.
• Only the goalie can touch the ball with their hands or arms during the game
• The soccer ball has to remain below the poles at all times (students cannot kick the ball up in the air)
• When a penalty occurs the teacher will roll the ball from the middle of the court towards the non-offending team.
