The fourth program in the series of eight, one-hour, live to tape debates produced by ETV for the University of South Carolina’s Institute for Southern Studies (ISS) under a grant provided by Watson-Brown Foundation, Inc. is “What is Real Southern Cooking?” Dr. Walter Edgar, Director of the Institute for Southern Studies at the University of South Carolina, is the moderator for the debate. Restoring the time-honored tradition of debating, the program will provide thought provoking positions to encourage inquiry and discernment. Three distinguished scholars will present two primary positions with compelling arguments on Southern cooking. The topic of the debate is “real Southern cooking”.
