G-Man: Death And Legacy | Carolina Stories - Episode 8

Melvin Purvis’ life tragically ended on February 29, 1960, due to an accidental discharge of a firearm. Some speculate that his death was suicide, while some others say that Purvis may have been murdered. Many police officers and other FBI agents attended the funeral, but J. Edgar Hoover refused to attend. To many members of the FBI, Melvin Purvis is considered both a legend and a hero.
