In this final segment of the Beaufort Climate Change panel, Lieutenant Colonel Neil Baxley of the Emergency Management Division of Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, briefly elaborates on emergency preparedness, and planning the actions and precautions the emergency response division needs to take in order to be ready for future natural disasters. Issues currently impacting Beaufort include infrastructure maintenance, vehicle maintenance, nuisance flooding, and erosion. The increase in storms and natural disasters are making it more difficult and expensive for Beaufort’s infrastructure to withstand.
