Students will explore real-world scenarios related to spring gardens to differentiate between situations requiring area or perimeter calculations.

Students will review area and perimeter then complete a project with a group where they will showcase their knowledge.

Students are given unique characteristics that each amusement park owner wants in their park. They will use their knowledge of area and perimeter to create an amusement park the owner will love.

Using the novel Smack Dab in the Middle of Maybe as a starting point, students will learn how to find the perimeter of a rectangle.
