Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark located on the coast of South Carolina. Founded in 1931 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, the gardens occupy land that was once used for rice production. Brookgreen offers visitors a chance to view native plants and animals as well as unique figurative sculpture. Through this program, students will learn about the history of the rice planters of the Waccamaw while exploring the remarkable outdoor classrooms of Brookgreen Gardens.
