A Raid On A Moonshine Still | History Of SC Slide Collection

Harry Melton, an investigator of the South Carolina Alcohol Tax Unit stationed in Charleston, photographed the results of a raid on a moonshine still in the marshlands two and a half miles north of the Savannah River in Beaufort County in 1938. Officers seized a 200 gallon copper still, and 400 gallons of mash for making the whiskey.
