Description

With the integration of Jim Crow laws in the 1890’s, there was the integration of the “Colored State Fair.” Dr. Stroup discusses the history of the “Colored State Fairs”, and how different factions with-in the African-American community held their own fairs.  After the success of the Civil Rights movement and the abolishment of Jim Crow laws, fairs once again became integrated in 1970.
