Uncommon Folk - Introduction and Maxie Eades - Episode 1

Kaltura

South Carolina has a high percentage of artistically inspired and talented people, and features a rich heritage of "folk art." However, there are also other artists labeled as "folk" whose artistic styles do not exist anywhere else in the world.

The first artist featured in this special is Maxie Eades. Eades is from upstate South Carolina, and she uses natural resources, as well as traditional knowledge, to create dough bowls, wooden bowls, and other wooden objects.
