The archaeologists from the University of South Carolina conduct experiments to better understand how these ancient tools were made and functioned. Artifacts at the site must not only be found, but properly dated. Experts from Coastal Carolina University, and the University of South Carolina’s Department of Geology also assist at the dig site, to analyze and date soil samples.
