Dr. Anne Austin Young fought the norm that women could not be at the top of their college class nor become a medical doctor. Anne was one of the first female doctors in South Carolina to practice medicine. This story covers her humble beginnings to later in life being inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame. Despite prejudice from both her family and community, Anne proved that women could succeed. Taped on location at several sites throughout the state, this drama inspires young people to achieve, despite any odds or prejudice.
