Governor Nikki Haley that would remove the Confederate Flag from State House grounds on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The signing of S.897 occurred on July 9, 2015 at 4:00 p.m., requiring that the flag be removed from State House grounds within 24 hours.

The flag was removed the following morning at 10:00 a.m. on July 10, 2015.
