1918-2013

Marian McPartland was the host of the acclaimed program, Piano Jazz, featured on National Public Radio for more than twenty-five years. She was a well-known jazz pianist and founder of Halcyon Records.  She was introduced to jazz by her husband, coronetist Jimmy McPartland, and she played with his band for a brief time before forming her own jazz trio.
