Refugees | Periscope

During times of war, people sometimes have to leave their home, or even their country, for safety. Often these people, or refugees, have no place to live and nothing to eat. They have fled their homes because of wars or other types of conflict. Many people have fled Syria in the last several years and have sought asylum in Europe, the United States, and other places. The United Nations helps these people find safe shelter and food. This can mean tents for the homeless, moving people out of dangerous areas, and giving refugees medicine, food, and clothes.

Because of war, refugees from Afghanistan often have to leave their homes for refugee camps.
