Objectives: TSWBT to successfully throw and catch a yarn ball while using the proper mechanics

Equipment: 1 yarn ball (or any ball that isn’t hard), volleyball net, gym space

Set-up: A volleyball net will need to be put up in the middle of the gym

How to Play: Students will be separated into two teams. Each team will be on opposite sides of the volleyball net and will be spread out on their side. To start the game, one person will begin with the ball and will overhand throw it over the net. The other team’s job is to catch the ball. If the ball is caught, then the person that caught it throws it back over the net. However, if someone drops the ball or it hits their hands and then falls to the ground, the person(s) that touched the ball is out of the game. If the ball is not touched by anyone and hits the ground, then the person that is closest to the ball is out. The goal of the game is for 1 team to get everyone out on the other team by throwing it away from the other teams’ members.

                Rules:

  • The ball must be thrown over the net
  • If ball hits the net or is thrown out of bounds then the person that threw the ball is out.
  • Must be thrown overhand
  • Cannot dive or slide to catch a ball. If this happens that person is out.
