Maps and Landforms
The students will learn about maps and landforms and why they are important.
Essential Question
Why are maps important? How have maps changed today vs. how they use to be?

Lesson Progression
-The teacher will go through the PowerPoint in order.
-Provide an introduction to maps and then watch the video all about maps. After the video, have a discussion with students on what they learned.
-Provide an introduction to landforms and then watch the video on landforms. After the video, have a discussion with students on what they learned.
-Play the map song, and then the read-aloud.
-At the end of the lesson, students should draw a map of their own homes.

The students will be assessed through questioning that takes place during the lesson and if they are able to use what they have learned about maps and landforms to create their own maps.
