Bowling Bingo
Objective: TSWBT perform underhand rolling using the correct technique in order to knock the bowling pins down in a game during class.
Cues:
1. Face your target
2. Step with the opposite foot
3. Use a pendulum arm motion with the arm you are rolling with
4. Follow through to the sky or ceiling with hand
Equipment:
- Bowling ball
- Carpet lanes
- Bowling pins
- Poly spots
- Scorecards (Bingo cards)
Set-up: Students will be separated into groups of 3-4. Each group will have 10 bowling pins, 1 bowling ball, 1 carpet lane, and 1 scorecard. There will be 4 different positions in this activity which are the ball returners, pinsetters, the bowler, and the scorekeeper. Students will rotate after each roll (see rotation resource)
How to play: After the students get into their position the student who is the bowler will roll one time. The number of pins that they knockdown is the number that the scorekeeper will shade in or mark out on the scorecard. Once the scorekeeper marks off that number, the ball returner rolls the ball back to the bowler, and the pinsetter resets the pins, the students will rotate positions. If a student knocks down the pins and the number of pins is not on the scorecard then nothing will be marked and the students will rotate positions. The goal of the game is to get “BINGO” which is 5 in a row either vertical, diagonal, or horizontal by the end of the class. If a team wins then you can start a new round.
