Baseball Stations
Station 1: Hitting off a tee into the fence
Task: Students will be in partners working on their swings hitting whiffle balls into a fence. There will be tees lined up about 10 feet in front of a fence or wall. Students will have 5 whiffle balls and will hit those balls consecutively while their partner is standing at a designated spot behind the hitter so that they won’t get hit with the bat. Once the hitter hits their 5 whiffle balls the students will switch roles.
Cues:
- Grip- Put hands together with favorite hand on the top
- Back elbow up
- Step- Step with foot closest to the fence
- Swing Level- Pretend you are clearing a table
Station 2: Hitting in the field
Task: Students will again be working on their swings during this station. For this station there will be one hitter and the rest of the students will be fielding the balls. Have the fielders spread out around the infield and retrieve the balls that are hit. The hitter will have 5 whiffle balls that they will hit consecutively. Once the hitter hits all the whiffle balls have the hitter go be a fielder and one of the fielders becomes the hitter.
Cues:
- Grip- Put hands together with favorite hand on the top
- Back elbow up
- Step
- Swing Level- Pretend you are clearing a table
Station 3: Throwing for distance
Task: For this task students will again be working in partners and throwing as far as they can. One partner will stand at one line while the others will be out in the field in line with their partner. There will be one ball per 2 students and will begin throwing the ball as far as they can. Be sure that the students let the ball land on the ground before they pick the ball up.
Cues:
- Side- Turn body so that your non-throwing shoulder is pointed to the target
- Step- With opposite foot towards target (If you throw right-handed then step with left foot)
- Follow through- Throwing arm will come across body
Station 4: Throwing for accuracy
Task: Students will again be working with partners throwing towards a small net. One partner will stand at the cones in front of the net while the other partner will go behind the net to retrieve any whiffle balls that do not go in the net. The thrower will throw 5 whiffle balls and then students will switch roles.
Cues:
- Side- Turn body so that your non-throwing shoulder is pointed to the target
- Step- With opposite foot towards target (If you throw right handed then step with left foot)
- Follow through- Throwing arm will come across body
Station 5: Fielding a ground ball
Task: Students will be with a partner and will be lined up at cones across from their partner. Students will have one ball and will be rolling the ball back and forth working on fielding ground balls. Really have the students focus on using the alligator technique.
Cues:
- Athletic position- Bend your knees
- Alligator

These are nice to hang up or post at each station in case the students forget what to do. It tells them which station they are at, what to do, and which station they will go to next.
