Roger Milliken led Milliken & Company for 71 years, during which it grew to become the world's largest privately owned textile and chemical manufacturer. Milliken was the driving force behind the "Crafted with Pride in the USA" campaign. Roger Milliken was a civic leader and an environmental champion. He transformed his headquarters into one of the largest corporate green spaces in the Southeast. Milliken planted a million trees a year in the area and influenced the architectural and landscaping design of Wofford College and Converse College.
