Monaview MAGIC Initiative | WhatWorksSC

The Monaview MAGIC Initiative is designed to serve as an example of how a 21st CCLC program can foster social, emotional and educational growth in students and empower families through resources and knowledge. The mission of MMI is to empower each student with the foundation needed to grow educationally and socially by improving: academic abilities, skills and achievement of children in math and English Language Arts, the attendance rates and behavior of participating children in grades K5-5 during the school day, classroom participation, and homework completion. The programs also improves the health, wellness, and healthy choices of children through such enrichment opportunities as recreational “action” activities, CATCH, art, drama, music, dance, character education, college/career goals, and technology capacity.
