“Environmental Ed” explains the benefits of compost bins and rain barrels. Compost is a combination of decomposed, or rotting plant, and other organic materials like scrap food and grass clippings that are being decomposed or “broken down” largely through micro-organisms needing lots of air. The small, Pac Man-like, organisms eat their way through the compost turning it into rich soil. Composting is basically FREE and it’s natural and chemical free too.
