Road Trip! Through South Carolina Civil Rights History brings a fresh approach to teaching history to technologically aware children. Travel with us to learn about civil rights history in the Mid-state area of South Carolina in this first segment of a three part series. 

This first segment will feature Orangeburg, Clarendon, Richland and 13 other Mid-state counties.  Learn about grassroots leaders like Rev. Joseph A. DeLaine, Levi Pearson, Modjeska Simkins and others.  Learn how South Carolina influenced the 1954 Supreme Court decision of Brown v. Board of Education, Topeka Kansas.
