Project Learning Tree

Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators, parents, and community leaders working with youth from preschool through grade 12.  An overview of the PLT program can be found at:  www.plt.org In South Carolina, PLT is jointly sponsored by the SC Forestry Commission, the Forestry Association of SC, and the SC Department of Education.  PLT lessons are correlated to SC educational standards.  SC PLT offers FREE professional development workshops (SCDE-approved) for in-service teachers and college students majoring in education, natural resources, or environmental science.  Workshops, correlations, and other information about the SC PLT program can be found at:  http://www.state.sc.us/forest/refplt.htm Three sample lessons are available to the general public for six different activity guides.  To receive the entire activity guide, teachers must complete a professional development workshop (online or in-person).
