Hook:
- Students will watch the beginning of Michael Jackson “Remember the time" video and the short clip of Nelson Mandela video
- Discussion on which video depicted limited and which depicted unlimited government and why?
Direct Instruction
- Limited and unlimited government (attached). Exposes students to Ancient African Kings and Queens
- Students will choose one of the kings or queens listed to research. They will find out if that king or queen ruled with limited or unlimited power. They are also required to present two interesting facts about their king or queen during the next class period.
