Surviving the West: Westward Expansion Blogs
Students will take the point of view of a group in the west and create a blog about their experiences settling the west.

Lesson Progression
As students are learning about different groups who settled the west or who adjusted way of living because of settlement, encourage students to choose a point of view to create a blog about surving in the west. Expose students to various read-aloud, articles, simulations, and primary documents to build a knowledge base from which to create narrative experiences.
