Snowman Writing Assignment
Students will read the story "Sneezy the Snowman" and identify the point of view being used in the story. They will then create their own story of Sneezy by using a different point of view.

- Review by creating AVID 2 column notes with the point of view. (what pronouns help us identify the point of view?)
Guided Practice:
- Read Sneezy the Snowman
- Have students identify the point of view.
- How did the point of view influence the content and meaning?
Independent Practice:
- Have students create their own story of Sneezy the Snowman using the first point of view.
- What changed?
- Students can also create their own snowman with cotton balls, paper, cloth, and markers. Encourage them to be creative!
Closure:
- Have students share their stories.

Read the stories they created to check for understanding of the first and third person. You can also have them underline the pronouns they use. Have them explain how they know they used the first person versus third person.
