  3. Once the teacher has read the story, the teacher will show a PowerPoint that explains what a rule is, ways rules can be shown, consequences of breaking rules, etc.
  4. As the teacher goes through the PowerPoint with the students, the teacher will make connections to the story that was read at the beginning of the lesson to help the students grasp a better understanding of the material.
  5. After the PowerPoint, the teacher will lead the students in coming up with rules and consequences for breaking rules in the classroom.
  6. The teacher will record ideas on the board as the discussion is being held.
  7. Once the teacher and students have created their own classroom rules, and consequences for breaking the rules, the students will go back to their seats and draw a picture for each rule and consequence that they came up with as a class and sign their name at the bottom. These will be displayed in the classroom along with the written rules and consequences that the students came up with together.
