Lesson Progression
Day 1:
- Students will watch the Khan Academy video. While they are watching the video, they can take notes in their interactive notebooks (or however students take notes).
- Students will complete the exit ticket
Day 2:
- Watch the Brainpop video for review
- Students will complete the interactive lesson on PBSLearningMedia. You may choose for them to work alone or together in pairs.
Day 3:
- For a warm-up, have students do the “Round it Up” GoNoodle.
- Students will complete the interactive slideshow for individual practice.
- Have students turn this slideshow in and check for understanding.
*You may edit the slide show and differentiate it. You could also use this for small groups.

**You will have to click "make a copy" to gain access to the slide show. You may choose to add decimals for the enrichment and change the questions to differentiate.

differentiation: Pull small groups to remediate rounding to the nearest whole number, increasing in places as mastery develops.
Rounding to Whole Numbers
This interactive lesson focuses on using what you know about number lines and rounding from the tenths place to make decimals whole numbers and then asks you to explain your reasoning to show comprehension. This lesson can be used for every student or can be used for enrichment.
