Lesson Progression

Day 1: Students will learn about primary and secondary sources. 
            They will take notes and watch the Flocabulary video to introduce the topic. 
            Tell students they will also need to begin thinking about a person of history or an event that they could begin to research.

Day 2-5
       Students will begin to research the person or event of their choice.

 They must research:

  •          The person's childhood
  •          What made them famous?
  •          What impact have they had on history?
  •          3 interesting facts about the person 

                               or

  •           When did the event take place?
  •           Where did it take place?
  •           Why did it take place?
  •           Who were the important people present at the event?
  •           What happened due to the event occurring? 

**Must use at least 1 primary source and 1 secondary source
Day 6-7
Students will complete a video "reporting" on the person they chose. They will become News broadcasters that are reporting on the life of the person. They must share all the facts and tell their resources in a professional way. 
Day 7-8
Watch broadcasts of each student. See if the other students can identify the primary and secondary sources that each student used.
