Lesson Progression
1. The teacher will guide students through a presentation on the dance element "time." Students will take notes on the key vocabulary.
2. The teacher will have a visual representation of clapping patterns, with different beats and rhythms, on the board. The teacher will guide the students through clapping these different rhythms.
3. The teacher will lead students through a movement warm-up while discussing and dancing to the different beats.
4. The teacher will teach a 16 count combination for the students to learn and perform. During the informal performance, the students will count the music out loud to show they know how the dance goes with the timing of the music. (e.g. 1 and 2 and 3, 4).
