Lesson Progression
- T: Good morning class! Today we are going to learn about the word authority and what it means.
- The teacher will briefly state the definition of authority and give a few examples.
- The teacher will show PowerPoint to class and go into more detail on what authority is, why it is important, and people who are in authority.
- Once PowerPoint is completed, the teacher will hand out matching worksheet for students.
- Allow 7-10 minutes for students to work on matching worksheet.
- Go over the worksheet, and ask if students have any questions.
- Once questions have been answered, the teacher will hand out drawing worksheet.
- Allow 20-25 minutes for students to work on drawing worksheet.
- Have students share their drawings with the class, and explain why they chose to draw what they did.
- The teacher should briefly go over again the concept of authority, and why people in authority are important.
