~Discuss the importance of taking care of a pet and what a pet might need to survive
~Watch video on youtube of what animals need to survive

~Create an anchor chart of what an animal needs to survive and discuss why each of those are important
~Have students independently draw a picture of an animal and what they need to survive and label those items. Once students have finished they can then share with the group and look at different animals students drew.
