York, Part 3 - Historic Brattonsville | Palmetto Places

The Brattonsville National Historic District is the site of a plantation where visitors can travel back in time through the social and economic evolution of the Bratton family, and the surrounding region. Wade Fairey, the executive director of the York County Historical Commission, joins to discuss the historic significance of Brattonsville, the Bratton family history, and the district’s mission of preserving the area’s history for educational purposes.

The segment also features one of Historic Brattonsville’s re-enactors: a slave named “Kessie”, who worked the land, and talks about what life was like during the period.
