Willow River Farms | 27:Fifty (1992) - Episode 3

Willow River Farms, located in San Felipe, Texas, is a special farm. Why is this farm special? Because this farm employs workers who are developmentally disabled adults. A nonprofit organization in Houston has served those with special needs for over 40 years. The Board of Governors felt there was a need for a rural community, since many adults desired to live in the country, and to “experience something different.”  Willow River farms prides itself on being an “organic” farm, since no chemicals are used; everything there is natural. This farm gives these special needs adults the tools they need to become independent and successful in life.
