Sherman's March Through The South (5): Life For Soldiers In 1865 - Episode 5

By 1865, most Confederate soldiers did not have uniforms. Most wore clothes from home, instead of Confederate issued items. For Sherman’s troops, many Union soldiers wore articles from home as well, making for some mis-matched uniforms in the ranks. 

Confederate troops feared being captured, and harsh treatment from the incoming Union invaders.
