In Columbia, the state's capital city, we visit the the State House and three old homes, which are open to visitors. Also visited is the University of South Carolina, where old and new buildings blend together to form a modern university.
In the Upcountry, we see Woodburn, which is being restored, as well as Ashtabula, which has already been restored. In Pendleton, St. Paul's Episcopal Church is shown, along with its organ. The Old Stone Church, built in 1797, is also shown. Clemson University is visited in the upstate, along with some historic bridges and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
