Laurens, Part 4 - Zelotes Lee Holmes House | Palmetto Places

The house covered in this segment was built by Presbyterian clergyman and educator, Zelotes Lee Holmes, in 1858.  This home is unusual for its octagonal shape and method of construction, both influenced by Orson Fowler, a controversial publisher who found inspiration in nature shapes. The house was never fully completed, and Laurens banker Phil Betette joins to discuss the restoration, and future of this historic home.
