Greenwood, Part 3 - Ninety Six Historic Site | Palmetto Places - Episode 3

Kaltura

Joanna Angle talks about the history of Ninety Six National Historic Site. Two battles from the American Revolution took place here. The Battle of Ninety Six is the first land battle of the Revolutionary War in the South.  The second Battle of Ninety Six, which took place in 1781, pitted General Nathaniel Greene’s patriot troops against the British, and their newly constructed “Star Fort.” The second battle signaled to the British that their grip on the South was failing, and the Star Fort was abandoned.
