The small businesses featured in this segment are part of a grass-roots movement in the U.S., taking part in a practice called “micro-credit”, which is designed to help business-people who are unable to take out a traditional bank loan. The practice of micro-credit has origins in third world countries, and has migrated to the U.S., where it is increasing in popularity.
