Milestones in astronomy have been achieved with mankind and technology working together. Countries around the world have sent unmanned probes into space to gather data on planets, stars, and other features found in our solar system. Machines such as robots, satellites, and automatic telescopes have made jobs for scientists and astronomers much easier. This segment follows the development of the APT, or Automatic Photo-Electric Telescope, by Russ Janae and Lou Boyd. This telescope project was a culmination of amateur astronomers working together with professional engineers.
